Kuala kubu Bharu, Selangor

Last weekend I’ve joined a small 4×4 group trip to Sg Pertak, Selangor. As usual, since we traveled by vehicles, I brought my portable Outdoor Strobist set. Recently, I love to try something new to me, top and bottom light using my portable flash.

Below is a picture of  Siti Nur Gagah, taken with Nokin D300 with Nikkor 80-200mm. Lets not talking about the camera setting, since as for me, the camera setting for every scene are different. This is what i want to create, maybe not so perfect, but a low key portrait with a 4×4 vehicle. See, the top light created a separation between hair and dark background. I know, some people would suggest me to use a flash to create light from the back. I just like to try something new, since there was no place to put a strobe behind the subject. This vehicle was so big to highlight it all around, plus the dark color of the body paint make even harder to bounce any flash light. For the framing, I chosed to put the important parts of the vehicles that shown it identity, as the stickers, tyre, exhaust pipe (it this correct? )
